Cricstar 2009 (October)

The Cricstar tournament is the showpiece event of the VCC calendar and takes place every year, with matches contested in a 10 overs per side format.

There have been 2 events so far, with the first tournament taking place in the year 2008.

The last Cricstar took place in 2009, March which was won by Blitzkrieg(Kireeti). The first tournament was won by Centaurs(Rinesh)

In a final of the Cricstar 2009, Blitzkrieg won the title by 11 runs , with Kireeti's 44 not out, the highest score in a Cricstar Final.

Spectacular hitting dominated the tournament, most notably when Hurricanes Ravindra Singh hit 83 against the Dominators and Khatarnak's Gopi hit 89* against Blitzkrieg. It would be unfair if I did not mention the power hitting of Praveen and Prem (Dominators) against the Hurricanes.

Blitzkrieg made a record team score in the Cricstar, with 122 against Dominators, the second highest being the Dominators 114 against the Hurricanes.

There were also moments of individual brilliance with the ball, Seshu being the highest wicket taker.

The much awaited Cricstar is back again,and is to be staged in October 2009.
